Our Creative Writing classes are specially designed for Year 5 and Year 6 students, helping them master the skills needed to meet and exceed National Curriculum targets in a fun, supportive, and creative environment. Perfect for building confidence, imagination, and technical skills.

Adventure and Mystery Writing

• Skills Focus: Story structure, building suspense, and  descriptive writing.

Class Highlights:

• Creating a Gripping Plot: Learn how to build excitement and suspense       through story mapping.
• Character and Setting: Develop memorable characters and create       vivid settings that transport readers.
• Dialogue and Action: Practice realistic dialogue and dynamic       action scenes to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Outcome: Students will write a thrilling short story, showcasing their skills in description, dialogue, and narrative structure.

Persuasive and Formal Writing

• Skills Focus: Persuasive language, formal structure, and      effective arguments.

Class Highlights:

• Persuasive Techniques: Learn how to persuade readers with strong       arguments, facts, and emotive language.
• Formal Letter Writing: Practice writing persuasive and formal       letters, understanding the importance of structure, tone, and clarity.
• Report Writing Skills: Explore how to organize and present       information in a clear, factual style for formal reports.

Outcome: Students will craft a persuasive letter and a structured report, developing essential skills for clear and effective formal writing.

Fantasy Writing and Poetry

• Skills Focus: Imaginative vocabulary, creative expression,      and structure.

Class Highlights:

• World-Building and Fantasy: Create magical worlds and unique  characters, focusing on detailed and descriptive language.
• Poetry Exploration: Experiment with rhythm, rhyme, and figurative language in poetry to express creative ideas.
• Editing and Presentation: Refine work through peer feedback and polish for a final showcase.

Outcome: Students will produce an illustrated fantasy story and a poetry collection, showcasing their creativity, descriptive skills, and imaginative vocabulary.
